Harry Wright Lake Concert Relocated Wednesday, August 20th
Due to the inclement weather expected this evening, the concert for tonight Wednesday, August 20th at Harry Wright Lake featuring "Julian & Dominique" and the "Sensational Soul Cruisers" has been moved to the Manchester High School Auditorium. (101 Hawks Way, Manchester NJ 08759). No one will be permitted in the school until 5:30pm. Please note the auditorium only holds 600 people. Once we reach capacity the venue will close. In addition, food and drinks are not permitted in the auditorium. Parking is available in the front of the school and in the lot next to the football field.
Introducing the “Senior Bites” Program to Support Seniors and Local Restaurants
Mayor Joseph Hankins proudly announced the launch of a new program aimed at addressing food insecurity and social isolation among senior residents. The “Senior Bites” program, a pilot program created by Manchester Senior Services with the support of the Ocean County Office of Senior Services, officially kicked off at Heritage Restaurant in Whiting—the first participating restaurant in the township. Mayor Hankins was joined by Manchester’s Director of Senior Services Melissa DePalma, Ocean County Senior Services Director Maria LaFace, and Nick Bokhari, owner of Heritage Restaurant. Together, they introduced the program and celebrated the collaborative efforts that made it possible. John McGuire, Manchester Township’s Community Champion for 2025
Mayor Joseph Hankins and the Township Council were pleased to welcome Chief Antonio Ellis and Municipal Alliance Coordinator Barbara Sprechman to this week's Council meeting, where they presented the 2025 Community Champion Award to John McGuire! A staple of our community, Mr. McGuire has dedicated countless hours and resources to make his town a better place. A retired elevator mechanic, Mr. McGuire began his decades of service assisting the Manchester Little League in the 1980s, when he helped to secure better playing fields and snack bars for the organization. Since then, he has been actively involved with the Manchester Township Police, Police Athletic League, Municipal Alliance and School District. Mr. McGuire has been a pillar of the community for more than 20 years.
