Recognizing National Vietnam War Veterans Day
Today, March 29, 2023, on National Vietnam War Veterans Day, we honor those who served and sacrificed during the Vietnam War. Mayor Rob Arace had the privilege of presenting Joseph Rucci, who represented the Manchester Township Veterans Advisory Committee, with a Proclamation at the March 27, 2023, Township Council meeting in recognition of the day. We remain grateful, always, to all who serve our country, including many of our Manchester Township residents. Thank you.
Councilman Craig Wallis Takes Oath
Welcome, Councilman Craig Wallis, who ceremoniously took his Oath of Office, administered by Mayor Rob Arace, at the February 13, 2023, Township Council meeting. Mr. Wallis fills the vacancy left when former Councilman Samuel Fusaro resigned his seat effective January 15, 2023. The Council solicited applications for the vacancy and interviewed five candidates before selecting Mr. Wallis for the position. Councilman Wallis, who has lived in Manchester Township with his family since 1996, first won election to the Council in 2004. He did not run in the 2022 general election, but decided to seek a return to public service when Mr. Fusaro resigned. "I'd like to thank the Council for welcoming me back," said Councilman Wallis. "It's going to be an exciting year, especially with our new Council President (Roxanne Conniff) and Councilman (Joseph) Hankins. They bring a freshness to this whole organization." Councilman Fusaro Announces Resignation from Township Council
Having served the residents of Manchester Township for 27 years, Councilman Samuel Fusaro has announced that he will resign from his seat on the Township Council effective January 15, 2023, as he and his wife prepare a move out of town. "First, I want to thank all of our residents that helped and voted for me through the years and seven elections. I truly enjoyed walking through the villages and developments talking to our residents while getting petitions," Councilman Fusaro said. "Second, I what to thank all of our employees I have worked with. You all keep the Town moving forward every day. You're the best. Third, I also want to thank the Mayors and members of Council that I worked with. We didn't always agree but definitely made Manchester a better Town."
