In recognition of, Mayor Joseph Hankins was proud to issue a Proclamation which was accepted by Veterans Advisory Committee Chairman Roger Grenier during this week’s Township Council meeting.
In part, the Proclamation reads: “The Silver Star Medal is the third-highest military decoration awarded to members of the Armed Forces of the United States for extraordinary heroism in combat, and the Silver Star Banner is a symbol of pride and recognition for the families of those who have received this esteemed honor. This day serves to acknowledge and honor the brave men and women of Manchester Township, both past and present, who have demonstrated extraordinary courage and sacrifice in service to our nation, many of whom are recipients of the Silver Star Medal.”
Manchester Township’s governing body joins with our residents today, and everyday, to offer our profound gratitude to all those who served our country and sacrificed so much for our freedoms. We invite everyone to read the full text of the Proclamation, attached to this post.
