At a Court of Honor on May 30th , Manchester’s Kevin Bien was awarded the highest rank in Scouting, the Eagle Scout. Mayor Ken Palmer presented a Proclamation and a silver eagle coin to commemorate the day at the Manchester Volunteer Fire House. Kevin joins the ranks of an elite group of scouts who have achieved this prestigious rank. But much more than that, it takes a lot of work to get to this position. A scout has to earn 21 merit badges and then spearhead a community service project that he organizes and manages, from start to finish. Mayor Palmer said, “it was an honor to recognize the achievements of one of Manchester’s youngest citizens.”
