Due to the Extreme Heat Warning issued for Ocean County, the Manchester Township Office of Emergency Management will open a cooling shelter for residents seeking relief from the dangerous heat.

The cooling shelter is open to all Manchester Township residents. We especially encourage older adults, young children, individuals with medical conditions, and those without adequate air conditioning to take advantage of this air-conditioned facility.

What to Bring

• Medications

• Refillable water bottle

• Cell phone and charger

• Snacks and quiet activities, if desired

Heat Safety Tips

• Stay in air-conditioned locations when possible

• Drink plenty of water

• Limit outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day

• Never leave children or pets in vehicles

• Check on elderly neighbors, family members, and friends
