Mayor Joseph Hankins took his Oath of Office before the Manchester Township Council during the governing body’s Reorganization Meeting held on January 5, 2026, following his November 2025 election to complete the unexpired term of previous mayor Robert Arace, which concludes on December 31, 2026.

Mayor Hankins, a lifelong township resident and former Manchester Police officer, addressed the members of Council and the public in attendance, thanking them for the opportunity to continue his service to the community.

“I want to thank everyone for their support,” said Mayor Hankins in his remarks delivered in the Municipal Complex Courtroom. “I look forward to working with everyone — this is a great group to lead as Mayor, and I want to thank everyone for their time and efforts as we continue to work for the residents of Manchester Township.”

For 2026, Roxanne Conniff will retain her role as Council President, as will James A. Vaccaro Sr. as Vice President. The complete composition of the Township Council for 2026 is: President Conniff, Vice President Vaccaro, Councilwoman Michele Zolezi, Councilman Craig Wallis, and Councilwoman Sandy Gravatt-Drake.

Other items at the Reorganization Meeting included the appointment of Manchester Township’s professional services and establishment of meeting dates for 2026. Councilwoman Gravatt-Drake, who was appointed by Council to fill the seat vacated when Mr. Hankins became Mayor and later was elected in November 2025 to fill that unexpired term through December 31, 2026, took her oath prior to the meeting.
