Trick or Treat Information

Trick or Treat is only a couple of weeks away in Manchester Township, to be held on October 31, 2023, from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m.! We would like to offer some tips to ensure everyone has a safe and fun-filled day! • Plan costumes that are bright and reflective. • Make sure that shoes fit properly, costumes are short enough to prevent tripping, entanglement or contact with an open flame, costumes should not obstruct vision. • Children 12 and under should be accompanied by an adult. • Plan your route and share it with family members. • Carry a flashlight so you can be seen by others. • If possible, stay in groups and walk on sidewalks. If no sidewalk is available, use the farthest edge of the roadway. • Look both ways before crossing the street and try to cross only at corners. Do not hide or cross [...]

Thurman Pruitt Honored with Proclamation

Yesterday was a proud day for Manchester Township, as Mayor Rob Arace and the Township Council recognized Mr. Thurman Pruitt, an exemplary resident who served the Manchester Volunteer Fire Company and the Manchester Volunteer First Aid for an impressive 52 years. Additionally, Mr. Pruitt was a Manchester Little League coach and mentor. His commitment to his community was previously recognized by the 200 Club of Ocean County, which presented him the Meritorious Service Award. "I urge all residents of Manchester to join me in expressing our deep appreciation and gratitude to Mr. Thurman Pruitt for his exceptional dedication and service to our community," reads Mayor Arace's message in the Proclamation. From a grateful Manchester Township community, thank you, Mr. Pruitt, for your years of selfless service!

Remembering Those Lost on Sept. 11

This morning, in commemoration of the 22nd anniversary of the September 11th attacks and in honor of those lives lost, as well as to recognize the bravery and sacrifice of our fellow Americans that day and in the years to follow, Mayor Rob Arace, members of the Township Council, Chief of Police Robert Dolan, Department Heads, Volunteer Fire Company members, and special guests joined our residents for a remembrance ceremony at the Manchester Town Hall. "We come together to pay tribute to the brave men and women, who selflessly sacrificed their lives to save others. And to remember those who perished in the tragic events that unfolded on that day, September 11, 2001," said Mayor Arace in his remarks. "It is a day in the collective memory of our nation. It was the day that tested our strength, resilience and unity in the face of unspeakable tragedy." [...]

Council Vacancy

MANCHESTER TOWNSHIP
TOWNSHIP COUNCIL MEMBER – Resumes are being accepted by the Manchester Township Council for the purpose of filling a vacancy created by the appointment of one of its members as Mayor, for the un-expired term that ends on December 31, 2026. Interested candidates should note that they will be appointed to the position until December 31, 2025 but will be required to run in the November 4, 2025 general election to fulfill the remainder of the unexpired term.
