September 11th Remembrance Ceremony
This morning, to mark the 20th anniversary of the September 11th attacks and honor all of those lives lost, as well as to recognize the bravery and sacrifice of our fellow Americans that day and in years to follow, Mayor Robert Hudak, members of the Township Council, Chief Robert Dolan, and special guests joined our residents for a remembrance ceremony in the Municipal Complex courtyard. We paused this morning, all of these years later, to reflect upon those lives lost on that fateful day and in later years in service of our County. The names of each Ocean County resident lost on September 11th were read, including Manchester Township resident Cira Patti. "Today we honor not just those who perished, but our thoughts turn to our first responders and those still suffering the after effects of that terrible day," [...]

Council Fills Vacant Seat: Michele Zolezi Appointed
Michele Zolezi was appointed and sworn in on July 26, 2021, to assume the Manchester Township Council vacancy created when Robert Hudak resigned his seat to accept his appointment as Mayor on June 28, 2021. Ms. Zolezi is a life-long resident of Manchester Township who has served on the Township Planning Board for nearly a decade, leading it as Board Chair since 2017. She called her experience on the Planning Board and various municipal bodies, including the Open Space Committee and Master Plan Committee, “extremely fulfilling and rewarding.” These roles have prepared Ms. Zolezi for her next endeavor, joining the Township Council. “Continuing my public service in the role of a Township Council Member would be the perfect forum to utilize my experience, knowledge, and talents for the betterment of our community,” she said. "I'm very honored and humbled to be here." Professionally, Ms. Zolezi is an Environmental Division Manager [...]
Manchester Enters New Cost-Saving Energy Aggregation Contract
Projects Average Savings of 7.1 Percent Compared to JCP&L’s Rate Mayor Robert Hudak and the Township Council are pleased to announce that a new third party energy aggregation contract, approved during a special Township Council meeting on July 13, 2021, will continue the savings residents have come to expect on their electricity bills since the implementation of the Manchester Community Energy Aggregation Program in 2017. While JCP&L will continue to provide their quality service to our residents, electricity will be delivered by Energy Harbor LLC. at a lower cost thanks to the bulk purchasing rate accepted by the Council. Manchester Township’s current contract with energy supplier Constellation is set to expire in October, so bids for a new contract were recently solicited. To deem a bid acceptable, it had to guarantee savings by offering a fixed, non-adjustable rate that is lower than JCP&L. Energy Harbor’s bid accomplishes that and proved [...]
