This week, Mayor Joseph Hankins joined with the Township Council to recognize our dedicated, selfless, and hard-working Public Works personnel as First Responders, a role in which they make substantial contributions to our community, enhancing the safety and wellbeing of our residents.
The Mayor proudly presented a Proclamation to Director of Public Works Al Yodakis and members of his staff, recognizing Public Works professionals for the many ways they serve our community. Their efforts were especially appreciated during the recent severe winter storms, during which they worked tirelessly to ensure roadways were accessible so emergency vehicles could safely respond to calls for service.
The Proclamation reads, in part, “first responders respond swiftly and courageously to emergencies, often putting their own lives at risk to ensure the safety and well-being of others, whether in natural disasters, accidents, medical emergencies, or public health and safety threats.”
We join with Mayor Hankins, the Township Council, and all of our residents in expressing our appreciation for the many ways our Manchester Public Works professionals contribute to making our community a better place. Thank you for all that you do!
